Client:

The Athletic

Challenge:

• Create new, eye-catching ads for a company recently purchased by the New York Times.
• Stylization must fit a traditional New York Times feel, but modernized for the current sports viewer.

Solution:

In order to create a link between the New York Times and The Athletic, I knew I wanted to maintain the NYT’s signature black and white style.

To keep it exciting, I created motion to carry forward the excitement of a moment in sports. I incorporated minimalistic yet eye-catching illustrations to carry The Athletic’s message.

Additionally, I chose a sans-serif typeface in order to expedite the reading process for consumers.
